HANCOCK, Vt. –
Margie Freed earned her first career victory and
Joachim Jagge Lindstol placed second in the giant slalom leading the Catamounts to their first EISA Championship since 2016. Vermont finished with 868 points, one more than the host Middlebury Panthers to earn their 37th EISA title. Dartmouth finished in third place with 778 points.

After a career-high second place finish yesterday Freed earned her first-ever win in the 15k Classic. She finished in a time of 47:04.7, 23.4 seconds ahead of Colby College's Erin Bianco.
Anna Bizyukova was the Catamounts next scorer finishing in seventh place with a time of 47:55.0.
Waverly Gebhardt finished 1.1 seconds behind Bizyukova to place eighth overall. The trio earned 118 points for the Catamounts, best in the women's Nordic field.
Lindstol claimed his ninth podium of the season in today's giant slalom race after being a DNF in the slalom yesterday. His first run time of 1:01.20 and second run time of 1:01.48 were both second fastest in the field.
Raphael Quenneville was the Catamounts next scorer finishing in ninth place with a two-run time of 2:03.97.
David Frisk placed 24th overall earning 20 points for Vermont with his combined mark of 2:06.27.
Matias Øvrum was the Catamounts top-finisher for the second straight day at the Rikert Nordic Center. He placed fourth overall in the 20k Classic with a time of 53:05.9.
Karl Schulz placed sixth for Vermont with a time of 53:20.3.
Ian Moore was the Catamounts final scorer finishing 16.9 seconds behind Schulz for seventh overall. The men's team earned 113 team points, best in the field, and critically three more than Middlebury.
Rachael Desrochers placed 11th for the Catamounts in the giant slalom with a combined run time of 2:11.02.
Caroline Jones earned 30 points for Vermont finishing in 15th place with a two-run time of 2:11.77. Jones has now scored for the Catamounts in seven of her last nine races.
Marina Vilanova was the Catamounts final scorer she placed 25th overall in a time of 2:13.30. The women's team earned 84 points for Vermont.
Select Vermont skiers will return to action from March 11-14 at the NCAA Championships in Bozeman, Montana. The NCAA Championships will start with the Giant Slalom at Bridger Bowl on Wednesday, March 11. The Catamounts official selections will be announced next week.
