BOZEMAN, Mont. –
Raphael Quenneville was the Catamounts top finisher on day one of the NCAA Championships hosted by Montana State with a 15th place finish in the giant slalom at Bridger Bowl. After the opening day of competition Vermont is in ninth place with 37 points, Denver is in first with 172 points.

Quenneville earned 16 team points for the Catamounts with his two-run time of 1:48.99. In a stacked western field Quenneville was the fourth-highest finisher from the EISA. Vermont's freshman duo of
Joachim Jagge Lindstol and
Mathias Tefre each finished in the top-25. Lindstol was 22nd with a two-run time of 1:49.78 and Tefre placed 24th with a combined time of 1:50.00.
Josefine Selvaag placed 26th overall in the giant slalom for the Catamounts earning five team points. She recorded a two-run time of 1:58.58.
Marina Vilanova had the fourth fastest first run time with a mark of 56.17 but she was one of five in the field to DNF in the second run.
Nordic action highlights day two of the NCAA Skiing Championship with the women's 5k and men's 10k Freestyle from the Crosscut Mountain Sports Center. Action begins at 12 p.m. (ET) with the women's race. Live streaming is available at NCAA.com.
The alpine portion of the 2020 NCAA Skiing Championships will conclude on Friday with the slalom. The women's first run will begin at 11 a.m.
