BOZEMAN, Mont. –
Ben Ogden won the first individual national title of his career Thursday afternoon on a big second day of the 2020 NCAA Skiing Championships for the Catamounts in Nordic action from the Crosscut Mountain Sports Center.

Karl Schulz and Ogden earned All-American honors for Vermont. After two days of competition Vermont is in fourth place with 190 points. Defending national champion Utah is in first place with 293 points.

Ogden earned First Team All-American honors with a first-place time of 23:50.2 in the 10k Freestyle. He finished 3.1 seconds ahead of Utah's Sam Hendry the second-place finisher. Schulz also earned a First Team All-American citation, placing fifth overall in a time of 24:20.1.
Bill Harmeyer placed 12th overall with a time of 24:45.9. The trio earned 88 team points for the Catamounts 11 more than anyone else in the field.
Sutro earned First Team All-American honors as well with a fifth-place finish in the women's 5k Freestyle. She finished in a time of 14:02.1, 41 seconds behind Denver's Eveliina Piippo who won the race. Freed finished in a time of 14:14.3 earning Second Team All-American honors and finishing in ninth overall.
Anna Bizyukova placed 17th overall for Vermont with a time of 14:41.0. UVM earned 65 team points on the day, third best in the field.
This afternoon the NCAA announced the suspension of all winter and spring NCAA championships. Effective immediately the final two days of the NCAA skiing competition are canceled, formally ending the 2020 campaign for the Catamounts.
