BOSTON – The University of Vermont women's basketball team had three players earn All-America East honors highlighted by
Hanna Crymble being named America East Defensive Player of the Year. The league unveiled its year-end award winners and All-Conference Teams on Tuesday afternoon.

Hanna Crymble became the first Catamount since May Kotsopoulos (2007-08) to be named America East Defensive Player of the Year. This season she led America East with 49 blocked shots and was second in the league with 232 rebounds, an average of eight per game. She also had 31 steals. In addition to her major award Crymble was named to the All-Conference First Team, All-Defensive Team, and All-Academic Team. She is the 15th player in program history to be named to the All-Conference First Team and first to do so since May Kotsopoulos and Courtnay Pilypaitis in 2009-10. Crymble finished league play second in scoring with 16.3 points-per game. Academically Crymble, a biochemistry major, had the highest GPA among the five student-athletes honored this year on the All-Academic Team.

Josie Larkins earned the first postseason conference accolades of her career being named to the All-Conference Third Team. She finished seventh in league scoring averaging 13.0 points-per game this season. She was also tenth in the league averaging 2.9 assists a game. She led the Catamounts with 68 made three-point field goals and was third in the league in that category. She is the eighth Catamount in program history to be named to the All-Conference Third Team.
Emma Utterback joined an illustrious group of 20 Catamounts to be named to the America East All-Rookie Team including her teammate
Hanna Crymble. She was named America East Rookie of the Week three times this season. She is just the eighth Catamount in program history to receive that honor three or more times in a season. Utterback started all 29 regular season games for the Catamounts averaging 36.8 minutes-per game, third in the country among all freshman. Her 1065:10 of game action was the 13th most of any Division I player this year. Overall, she averaged 11.1 points-per game, 3.2 assists-per game and 4.4 rebounds.
The seventh-seeded Catamounts will face the two-seed Maine in the America East Quarterfinals presented by Hercules Tires tomorrow evening. The opening tip is set for 7 p.m. at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. All of the men's and women's America East Playoffs can be seen on
