Smith holds a 3.91 GPA as an Elementary Education major at Vermont. It marks the second straight season Smith has earned a spot on the Academic team. She won the Elite 18 Award at last year's conference championships for her efforts in the water and in the classroom.

Two weeks later at the ECAC Championship, Smith finished 13th in the 200 fly. In the relays, she helped the 200 medley relay team finish ninth and the 800 free relay team finish fifth.
