BURLINGTON, Vt. – Following a highly competitive fall docket, the Vermont men's lacrosse team has its leadership group for the upcoming season.

Ryan Cornell,
Liam Limoges,
Thomas McConvey,
David Closterman and
Will Jones was chosen by teammates to lead the group in 2022.

Cornell captained the 2021 squad and is back for another go with the Catamounts after a stellar true-senior season last spring. He was selected to the All-New England Second Team after posting a .514 save percentage in over 800 minutes in cage. He played some of his best lacrosse in May and was named to the America East All-Tournament team before making 12 saves in UVM's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Limoges turned in his finest season as a Catamount last spring and finished the season with 28 goals and 17 assists. He reached the 100 career-point milestone during UVM's semifinal victory over Stony Brook and registered at least one point in every game. Limoges is Vermont's active leading scorer with 73 career goals and 108 total points.
McConvey was an Honorable Mention All-American last spring after leading the Cats with 37 goals and 53 points. He notched his 100
th career point during the NCAA Tournament in just his 33
rd career game. He was selected to the America East First Team and the All-New England First Team and enters 2022 having notched a point in every career game.
Closterman put together an All-Conference First Team and All-New England First Team spring in 2021 finishing the year with 24 goals and 22 assists. He ranked eighth nationally with seven man-up goals and enters 2022 sitting at 92 career points.
Jones anchored the Vermont defense and finished the year with 22 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers, which ranked second on the team. He was also named to the All-Conference First Team and All-New England first team.
