JACKSON, N.H. –
Lina Sutro was the Catamounts top finisher on the final day of the 2021 NCAA Skiing Championships earning Second Team All-American honors in the 15k Freestyle from the Jackson Nordic Center. The Catamounts finished sixth overall at the competition with 351 points and Utah successfully defended its 2019 NCAA Championship with 554 points.

Sutro earned All-American honors for the fourth time in her career placing ninth overall Saturday afternoon. She finished the 15k Freestyle in a time of 40:06.1, earning 22 team points for UVM. Utah's Sydney Palmer-Leger claimed her second individual win of the Championships with a mark of 38:31.0. UVM's
Anna Bizyukova placed 25th overall with a mark of 41:49.6. Sophomore
Waverly Gebhardt placed 30th for UVM with a time of 42:51.1.
Making his NCAA Championship debut
Jacob Nystedt was the Catamounts top finisher in the men's 20k Freestyle. He placed 18th overall with a time of 50:44.9. His teammate
Matias Øvrum finished 24th in the field with a mark of 51:36.2.
Greg Burt placed 28th finishing in a time of 52:48.1. Colorado's Magnus Boee also won his second individual national title of the week with a time of 48:02.4.
Saturday's action closed out the 2021 collegiate season for the Catamounts. Following the NCAA Championships UVM now has 69 individual national champions and 398 All-American citations in program history.
