COACH'S QUOTE
"We certainly had stretches where we had opportunities and we really needed to do a better job capitalizing on our set pieces," head coach
Kate Pfeifer said. "We've got to get ourselves reset playing how we know we can play this week in practice and I think they are ready for that."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Triggs netted the game's only goal in the 22nd minute. The rookie deflected a shot from Carli Pelletier for her first career goal. The UAlbany marker came in a flurry of three shots directed at Sierra Espeland (5 saves) in a span of two minutes.
- The Catamount attack went on the offensive in the second half with four shots on goal in the first seven minutes. Clodagh Ferry registered the first shot of the half as Vermont tested goalkeeper Sheridan Messier (5 saves).
- UAlbany countered with a pair of shots on goal and a shot that whistled wide of Espeland and the UVM goal to close out the third quarter with the lead.
- Defense prevailed in the fourth quarter with only one shot each for the conference foes. Pleun Haantjes registered the lone shot for the Catamounts in the final quarter.
