BOSTON – UVM field hockey first-year
Sophia Drees has been named America East Rookie of the Week after scoring goals in each of Vermont's three home wins last week. The weekly award is the first of her career.

Drees registered seven points (3 goals, 1 assist) last week to lead Vermont over Holy Cross (Sep. 7), Hofstra (Sep. 10), and Brown (Sep. 12) at Moulton Winder Field. The rookie from Bremen, Germany had a goal and one assist in the Catamounts' 3-2 win over Holy Cross. Drees then scored the clinching goal in overtime to defeat Hofstra 2-1 for her first career game-winning goal. She added a game-winning goal two days later to defeat Brown 2-0.
Vermont field hockey's three game winning streak is the longest under head coach

The Catamounts will play its second straight Ivy League opponent as they return to action next Saturday at Dartmouth. UVM will face the Big Green at 11 a.m. from Chase Field. Saturday's action will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
