In November Mlýnková took over the Catamounts lead in scoring with seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in seven games. Her 2.0 points-per game was best among all players in Hockey East while her 14 points was tied for fourth nationally in November. She also picked up her first career hat trick in a 6-1 win at Maine on November 4. With her offensive surge in the month she is currently tied for second in Hockey East in scoring with 25 points.
"We are so happy for Nat for the great start she has had to the season and very glad that Hockey East recognizes what a special month she had in November," said Head Coach
Jim Plumer. "It's a product of her hard work, talent and of having her first normal college season. She's a special player and person and I know she is going to continue to make a great impact for us."
Murphy was the most productive defender in the league in the month of November with seven points. Her seven points were tied for second in the NCAA in the month. Her plus-eight rating was also third among all defenders in the country. She recorded two multi-point outings, one game-winning goal and a power play goal. As a team, the Catamount held their opponent to two or fewer goals in six of their seven games.
"Ellice has made a tremendous impact this year at both ends of the ice," said Plumer. "Last month she scored some clutch goals and really impacted the offense but equally as important, her plus/minus number shows just how important she is on the defensive end."
The Catamounts close out the first semester this weekend as they travel to Syracuse for a two-game set with the Orange. Vermont will face Syracuse at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 9 and then again at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will air for free on Cuse.com.
