SKIING NOTEBOOK
For the first time since 2019 the Catamounts will compete at the Dartmouth Carnival this weekend in New Hampshire. It is the 99th edition of the Dartmouth Carnival, UVM has won the Big Green's event 37 times in program history. Due to snow conditions, the giant slalom will not be run at the Dartmouth Skiway. Instead, the alpine races will feature the slalom on both days. The cross country races will take place at the Oak Hill Touring Center in Hanover.

BIZYUKOVA AND BURT RECEIVE WEEKLY EISA AWARDS
After the UVM Carnival weekend which was exclusively Nordic races Vermont's
Anna Bizyukova and
Greg Burt were honored as EISA Skiers of the Week, given to the highest point getters on a given weekend (although you can only earn the honor once a season). Bizyukova won the 1.4k sprint and finished second in the 10k classic. Burt was the only male athlete on the podium in both races last weekend. He finished second in the 1.4k sprint and third in the 10k classic.

RETURNING DEPTH FOR THE CATAMOUNTS
With the added year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Catamounts 2022 roster is stacked with returning talent. UVM returns five All-Americans from the 2021 NCAA Championships.
Mathias Tefre was the National Champion in the slalom and he was joined by
Justine Clément (slalom) and
Francesca English (GS) as First Team All-Americans.
Anna Bizyukova (classic) and
David Frisk (slalom) were Second Team All-Americans along with Tefre (GS) and English (slalom).

CATAMOUNT ALUMS PART OF RECORD CONTINGENT OF UVM ATHLETES AT WINTER OLYMPICS
Six current and former UVM skiers are competing at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. In the men's skiathlon Scott Patterson '14 finished 11th overall, the top American finisher in the event. Senior Catamount
Ben Ogden finished 12th in the skate sprint in his Olympic debut. On the slopes
Paula Moltzan '19 finished tied for 12th in the GS and eighth in the slalom. Her former teammate Laurence St. German '19 was 17th in the slalom.Â
Kevin Drury '14 will be competing next week in his second Olympics for Canada in Ski Cross.
