RIPTON, Vt. –
Stephanie Lebby won the giant slalom and
Jacob Nystedt completed a weekend sweep of the Nordic events winning the 20k freestyle as the Catamounts continued their streak of carnival wins in the EISA Saturday claiming the 98th Middlebury Carnival. Vermont finished first overall with 1,034 points, finishing 169 points ahead of the host Panthers.

After weather forced postponements yesterday the women's alpine team was raring to go on Saturday. Lebby earned her first career podium and win a two-run time of 2:05.28. She had the fastest first run (1:02.39) and second run (1:02.89) in the entire field.
Justine Clément placed second overall with a combined run time of 2:06.14. It was Clement's second podium of the season.
Moa Clementson was UVM's final scorer of the day placing fourth overall with two-run time of 2:06.64.
On the men's side first year
Kyle Alexander stole the show for the Catamounts in his EISA debut. He placed third overall with a two-run time of 2:01.19. Middlebury's Justin Alkier won on his home hill with a combined time of 2:00.45.
Joachim Jagge Lindstol placed fourth with a two-run time of 2:01.45.
Mathias Tefre finished sixth overall with a combined run time of 2:03.34. UVM's
Declan McCormack placed seventh just .07 seconds after Lindstol.
Nystedt followed up his first career win Friday with another on Saturday. He claimed the race with a time of 51:56.7, finishing 7.5 seconds ahead of UNH's Scott Schulz.
Matias Øvrum finished fourth overall for the second straight day too. Ovrum's sixth top-5 finish of the year came in a time of 53:12.9.
Greg Burt was UVM's final scorer of the day placing 12th with a time of 54:50.7.
In the women's 15k freestyle first year
Haley Brewster was UVM's top-finisher for the first time in her career as she earned first podium placing second overall. She finished in a time of 46:35.0, 14.4 seconds behind Dartmouth's Margaret Gellert.
Anna Bizyukova missed the podium for the first time this season placing fourth with a mark of 46:38.7.
Libby Tuttle earned her second top-10 of the season finishing eighth in a time of 47:01.7.
The alpine team will be back in action tomorrow for Individual NCAA Qualifiers unattached to the Middlebury Carnival. Action at the Middlebury Snow Bowl will begin with the first run of the women's GS at 9 a.m. The men will follow at 10:30 a.m.
