PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Vermont men's lacrosse team nearly erased a five-goal fourth-quarter deficit but the comeback fell short in a 12-11 loss to Brown Saturday afternoon.
Vermont falls to 1-3 on the season following its second one-goal loss in four games while Brown moves to 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brown started the game scoring the first five goals including two by Devon McClane.
- Thomas McConvery got the Cats on the board with just two second left in the opening frame.
- Brown stretched the lead to 12-7 heading into the fourth quarter.
- McConvey potted his second of the day to start the comeback before Brock Haley cut the lead to three also with his second of the day.
- Liam Limoges got in on the fourth-quarter rally scoring with 38 seconds to go but Brown won the ensuing faceoff and held on for the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- McConvey netted his first hat trick of the season and now has a point in every one of his 37 career games.
- David Closterman tallied four assists (a new career-high) to lead UVM in scoring.
- Nick Alviti scored his second goal of the season which now gives him a new career-best.
