Mora Fernandez de Oliveira is the next in a talented group of international Catamounts as she comes to Vermont from San Isidro, Buenos Aires in Argentina. A multi-sport athlete in Argentina, Fernandez de Oliveira will play forward and patrol the midfield for UVM. She chose Vermont because "it will be the perfect environment for [her] to develop as not only a student-athlete but as a person."
Lauren Halenkamp – a goalkeeper from Monument, Colo. – joins the Catamounts after a solid career at Palmer Ridge High School out west. A multi-sport athlete, Halenkamp boasted a miniscule 0.3 goals against average this past season in 15 games played. She was a First-Team All-State Academic selection and a Secon Team selection for her work in cage. She chose UVM because "of the strong engineering and STEM programs and because [she] fell in love with Burlington and the UVM campus."
Ainsley Hubbard comes to Burlington from Keene, N.H. and Deerfield Academy. She played both varsity field hockey and lacrosse at Deerfield. At Keene, the midfielder was a First-Team All-State selection in 2019 and was a Scholar Athlete every semester. "I love the small city feel of Burlington and the welcoming community on campus," Hubbard said in her recruiting questionnaire. "I wanted to be a part of a hard-working competitive field hockey program and I love the fact that the Public Communications major is geared towards public service."
Sophia Lefranc becomes the next Catamount to hail from Germany as she makes her way from Munich to Burlington. She played basketball and field hockey at Maria-Ward High School and was part of four Bavarian Championship teams. She chose UVM because of "the great field hockey team and because [she is] sure that with this team we can be very successful."
Olivia Nolan is the latest Catamount to hail from Pennsylvania and comes to UVM after a four-year career at Central Bucks East High School. Nolan was a Second-Team All-League selection this past fall and was named an Academic All-American. She was also awarded her team's Most Improved Player award in 2020 and the Patriot Award this fall. She chose UVM "because of the competitive aspect of playing a Division I sport and because the school offered many options for what I want to pursue academically in the future."
Maddie Priestly joins the Catamounts from Chelmsford, Mass. and the Merrimack Valley Athletic Conference where she was an All-Conference performer in both field hockey and track & field. On the pitch, Priestly was a team captain the last two seasons and a First-Team All-League selection this past fall. In her career, she posted 22 goals and 16 assists as a midfielder. "I chose UVM because the school, the campus and the field hockey players and coaches will help me to become the best possible version of myself," Priestly said.
KK Sauve will begin her Catamount career this fall after a stellar career at Cumberland Valley High School in Pennsylvania. An All-State First-Team selection her senior year, Sauve was also named the Mid-Penn All Conference Player of the Year following the 2021 season. As a team captain, she led her squad to the district finals and the "Great Eight" PIAA State Playoffs. She finished her career with 32 goals and 32 assists. "The more I talked with the coach and the team, I know the team was a great fit for me," Sauve Said." I could see myself fitting in and being happy as soon as I visited campus."
Lili Schuh – a defensive-minded midfielder – hails from Munich, Germany and rounds out a now-quartet of German players on the Catamount roster. She chose UVM because it "offers a perfect combination of professional field hockey and high-level academics." In addition to field hockey, Schuh was a gymnast and track performer at Maria-Ward High School in Munich.
Kate Stockwell closes out the class from Clinton, N.Y. She was a four-sport athlete at Clinton Senior High School.
