BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont women's lacrosse head coach
Sarah Dalton Graddock has announced the newest addition to her staff, and it features a former captain of the Catamounts.
Grace Giancola '22 has rejoined the program as an assistant coach ahead of the 2023 season.
"Absolutely thrilled for Grace to join our staff," Dalton Graddock said. "She will be an outstanding resource for our student-athletes having been in their shoes a year ago. Grace was a major part of this program's transformation and I'm excited for her to continue to make an impact coaching and recruiting."
Giancola was a two-year captain and multiple-time All-America East member during her playing career at Vermont. As a captain, Giancola helped lead the Catamounts to their first ever America East Championship, scoring the clinching goal in the come-from-behind victory over top-seeded UAlbany. The Canton, Conn. native scored UVM's final two goals in a three-goal outing and was named the America East Championship's Most Outstanding Player.
Giancola's accolades spanned across her career as a Catamount, earning recognition on the America East All-Rookie Team in 2019. She was a member of the All-Conference Second Team in 2021.
As a coach, Giancola helped with the Connecticut Dodgers Lacrosse during her offseasons in 2017 and 2018. She also helped out with 802 Lacrosse while up in Vermont.
