RECOGNIZING OUR SENIORS
The senior ceremony will begin at 10:20 a.m. with Vermont recognizing the 12 seniors who have made an impact on our program over their time at UVM. The seniors graduating this season have made their presence felt in Catamount Country with a 16-14 overall record and 6-3 in America East competition since 2019. These Catamount seniors finished third in the America East Championships three times in a row, including a record-setting 677 points at the 2021-22 America East Championship, which is the most in program history. This senior class has set several Vermont varsity records and have earned numerous All-Conference accolades including
Cailin Campbell being named to the America East All-Conference Team three consecutive years and
Mina Poppas two straight times. Poppas and Campbell have both earned victories at the America East Championships either in the relay or individual. Poppas holds the Forbush Natatorium all-time record in the 500 freestyle, while her and Campbell were both apart of the 800 freestyle relay team that holds the Vermont varsity record coming in February last season.Â

MEET OUTLOOKÂ
The two teams will be competing in a 16-event format meet that includes the 400 medley and 200 free relay, the 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 freestyle, the 100 and 200 back, the 100 and 200 breast, the 200 IM and the 100 and 200 fly. Along with the 14 swimming events the two teams will also compete in the one-meter dive and three-meter dive. Vermont will be in lanes 2-4-6 and Rhode Island will be in lanes 1-3-5.Â
Â
INSIDE THE SERIES
This will be the 25th matchup of the series all-time between Vermont and Rhode Island with the Rams holding a 13-9 advantage. The first time the two teams met was a Rhode Island victory in January 1994. The last time the two teams met was earlier this season having competed at the Harold Anderson Invitational in Kingston, Rhode Island in November. Vermont finished first out of seven teams, while Rhode Island finished a close second. In that meet Vermont set eight Tootell Aquatic Center pool records, three Vermont first year records, two UVM varsity records and registered 15 individual first place finishes. This season was the first time the Catamounts finished outright first in the Harold Anderson Invitational and the first time since 2007 that Rhode Island did not win or tie for first at the Harold Anderson Invitational.
