RIPTON, Vt. – Ben Ogden,
Jacob Nystedt and
Petter Bakken swept the podium in the men's 15k Classic and
Waverly Gebhardt and
Haley Brewster claimed podium spots in the women's 15k Classic as UVM earned 268 team points Saturday on day two of the Saint Michael's Carnival. UVM now holds the lead in the SMC Carnival after the Nordic events with 506 points. Middlebury sits in second place with 432 points.

Team Scores
Ogden won his fourth straight race of the EISA campaign with a time of 41:30.0 Saturday. Nystedt placed second to Ogden for the third time this season finishing 19.2 seconds behind him. Bakken earned his first-ever EISA podium with a third-place finish in a time of 42:24.3.
Aidan Burt finished 10th overall for Vermont as well, in a time of 43:08.4.
Gebhardt earned her first EISA win of the year with a time of 47:56.3. She finished .9 seconds ahead of Saint Lawrence's Emma Strack. Brewster completed the podium picture with a time of 47:59.9.
Libby Tuttle earned her second top-10 finish of the season with an eighth-place finish in a time of 48:49.9. First year
Molly Moening earned a career-best 13th place finish in a time of 49:41.7.
Camille Bolduc (51:10.4) placed 21st overall for the Catamounts.
The alpine and Nordic ski teams will return to action next weekend for the UNH Carnival. The Nordic teams will compete in a 5k Skate and 20k Classic from the Jackson Ski Touring Center. The alpine teams will now compete at Burke Mountain in East Burke, Vt. With changing weather conditions please stay tuned to EISASkiing.org and UVMAthletics.com for potential schedule changes.
The alpine team will complete the 2023 Saint Michael's Carnival on February 3 and 4 from Smuggler's Notch in Jeffersonville, Vt.
