MIDDLEBURY WINTER CLASSIC
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Vermont track & field recorded several top marks en route to a pair of second-place team finishes in the Middlebury Winter Classic on Saturday at Virtue Field House. The UVM women posted a score of 157 points. The men logged 135 points in their competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kevin Mills was victorious in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.90 meters, edging out teammate Pierce DeBoer (1.90m) and Union's Landers Green (1.90m). Mills posted the winning mark on his second attempt.
- Lauren Triarsi won the women's high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters, her second-highest mark of the season.
- The Catamounts earned the top three spots in the women's 3000-meter run, with Andie Cornish posting the winning time of 10:33.13. Caroline Deiss (10:44.56) and Claire MacDonald (10:47.82) rounded out the scorers in the top three.
- Andrew Crompton raced to victory in the men's mile, posting a time of 4:17.16. Sophomore Davis Cote placed third with a time of 4:18.48. Crompton and Cote took second and third in the men's 800-meter run with times of 2:00.05 and 2:00.77, respectively.
- Carolena Bellini earned a runner-up finish in the women's long jump, posting a mark of 5.21 meters.
- Charlotte Crum was second in the women's 500-meter run with a personal-best time of 1:19.61. Rachel Barba placed fifth with a time of 1:22.61. On the men's side, Cameron Kirn logged a second-place finish with a time of 1:07.61, and Zane Reservitz was fourth with a time of 1:09.33.
- Alex Siaton recorded a second-place finish in the men's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.14 seconds. Rookie, Andrew Ponessi, was fourth with a time of 7.18 seconds.
- Kenneth Morrissey earned a second-place finish in the men's 1000-meter run with a time of 2:32.91.
- Emma Wapshare placed third in the women's shot put with a personal-best mark of 10.91 meters.
- Gabby Rausa (26.96s) and Chike Asanya (23.17s) registered third-place finishes in their respective 200-meter sprints.
- First-year jumper, Kate Kelly took third in the women's triple jump with a mark of 9.92 meters. Teammate, Sarah Bushnell, placed fifth with a mark of 9.77 meters.
- The women's distance medley relay team of Hannah Hayden, Megan Quade, Emma Hastings-Crummey, and Clare Kelly logged a winning time of 13:20.38.
- The UVM men won the 4x200-meter relay with Henry Miller, Siaton, Asanya, and Andrew Ponessi combining for a time of 1:30.77. The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Reservitz, Alex Warner, Kirn, and Morrissey recorded a time of 3:26.91 for the top mark.
UP NEXT
Vermont returns to action on Friday (Jan. 27) when it splits off into a pair of meets in Boston. The Catamounts will be competing in the Terrier Classic at Boston University, as well as the UMass Lowell Invite at the Track at New Balance.
