DUBLIN, N.H. – Joachim Jagge Lindstol led Vermont on day one of the second-ever Harvard Carnival Friday. Lindstol earned his third podium of the season with a second-place finish in the giant slalom. After the first day of competition UVM sits in third place with 346 points, 87 points behind Dartmouth.

On a day in which only 21 men's racers finished both runs Lindstol placed second with a two-run time of 2:01.34. Dartmouth's Oscar Zimmer beat UVM's Norwegian by .07 seconds to win the day.
Mackenzie Wood was UVM's only other two run finisher, he placed a season-best 13th overall with a two-run time of 2:02.79.
Marina Vilanova was the Catamounts top finisher in the women's GS she placed ninth overall with a combined time of 2:06.86. Plymouth State's Hanna Larsson Nathhorst won the event with a two-run time of 2:04.36.
Moa Clementson placed 13th for Vermont with a two-run time of 2:06.94 and
Ella Renzoni was Vermont's final scorer placing 22nd overall (2:08.11).
In the women's 10k Classic
Waverly Gebhardt and
Haley Brewster led the way for UVM on a strong day that saw six Catamounts finish in the top-20. Gebhardt placed fifth overall with a time of 32:55.7 and Brewster placed sixth finishing 12.1 seconds behind her teammate. Dartmouth's Ava Thurston won the event with a time of 31:43.9.
Libby Tuttle was UVM's final scorer placing 11th overall with a time of 33:30.5. In her first EISA action first year
Marielle Ackermann placed 17th (34:10.5) for the Catamounts.
Petter Bakken earned his third career top-10 for Vermont and was the Catamounts top finisher in the men's 10k Classic. Vermont placed five skiers in the top-20 Friday. Bakken placed ninth overall with a time of 29:36.5. Harvard's Rémi Drolet won the day with a time of 28:00.3.
Jacob Nystedt placed 12th for Vermont with a time of 29:42.2.
Greg Burt was Vermont's final scorer finishing 14th overall nine seconds after Nystedt.
The second-ever Harvard Carnival wraps up tomorrow from the Granite State. Slalom races will begin at 10 a.m. from Waterville Valley while the men's and women's 3x5k Classic Relay starts at the same time. Saturday's action from the Dublin School Nordic Center will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+.
