WORCESTER, Mass. – UVM's
Natalie Schlemmer and
Hally Laney both registered Catamount program records while the 400 medley relay team also broke a school record on day three of the America East Championships. Vermont used a strong third day of competition to surge into third place with 394.5 points. Bryant sits in second with 474 points after the third day. New Hampshire continues to lead the pack with 561 points after three days of competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Natalie Schlemmer earned All-Conference honors gaining second place and a Vermont first year record in the 400 IM finishing in a time of 4:23.79.
- Hally Laney continued a strong night for the Catamounts also earning All-Conference honors and setting a program record in the 100 fly claiming a gold medal and first place in a time of 55.34, a full second ahead of the field.
- The Catamounts dominated the 200 freestyle placing four swimmers in the top eight. Jackie House paced the pack finishing in 1:49.08 while teammate Ella Church finished in second with a time of 1:49.88. Mina Poppas finished in fourth with a time of 1:50.91 while first year Dayle Snively earned 11 points for Vermont coming in eighth in a time of 1:53.84.
- First year Ellie Fazio continued her strong run at the America East Championships placing fourth in the 100 backstroke finishing in a time of 1:03.98.
- Vermont had another strong showing in the 100 backstroke placing three members in the top eight. Senior Beth Hartog finished in sixth with a time of 56.99 while Alexis Torykian and first year Autumn Bullinger rounded out the top eight. Torykian finished just behind Hartog at 57.13 and Bullinger came in at 57.49.
- UVM finished their night on a strong note with the combination of Torykian, Schlemmer, Laney and House to finish second in the 400 medley relay. The four of them set a school record finishing in just 3:44.76 and were barely over a half of a second from first place. Their time broke the school record by a full three seconds and is the Catamounts best-ever finish in the 400 medley relay.

The Catamounts are back in action tomorrow for the final day of the championships. UVM will compete in the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 1650 free & 400 free relay. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. tomorrow and all action will be streamed live on AmericaEast.TV.
