AMESBURY, Mass. – First year forward
Lara Beecher was named Pro Ambitions Hockey East Rookie of the Month for January. It is the Catamounts third monthly award this season, the league office made the announcement Monday morning.

Beecher had four goals and two assists in January helping the Catamounts solidify their top-15 ranking in the country and second place position in Hockey East. Beecher
scored the game-winning goal on January 6 against the Friars. UVM won three straight games against the Friars and Beecher scored in all three contests.
"What a great month for Lara and it's a tremendous credit to her to receive this honor," said Head Coach
Jim Plumer. "She scored some key goals for us against Providence and she has developed into a threat every time she's on the ice. She has a bright future with us and we are looking forward to her being a key player down the stretch of this regular season and into the playoffs."
The Catamounts final home weekend of the regular season is next weekend as the Catamounts face New Hampshire and Maine. UVM hosts UNH at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 10. Then on Saturday, February 11 at 3 p.m. Vermont will face the Black Bears on Senior Day presented by the UVM Alumni Association.
