WILMINGTON, N.Y. – Senior
Joachim Jagge Lindstol earned First Team All-America honors for the Catamounts, placing fourth overall in the giant slalom, on Day 1 of the 2023 NCAA Skiing Championships Wednesday from Whiteface Mountain. After the first day of competition UVM sits in seventh place with 67 points. Colorado currently sits in first place at the quarter pole with 139.5 points.

Lindstol earned All-America honors for the third time in his career with a two-run time of 2:08.07 in the GS. His first run time of 1:04.53 was tied for third fastest in the field. Colorado's Filip Forejtek took the national championship with a combined time of 2:07.16.
Mathias Tefre placed 17th overall for the Catamounts, earning 14 team points with a two-run time of 2:08.83. Making his NCAA debut
Cole Palchak was 22nd overall with a combined time of 2:09.55.
Caroline Jones was the Catamounts only scorer in the women's giant slalom. She placed 18th overall with a two-run time of 2:16.94, earning 13 team points for UVM. The University of Utah's Madison Hoffman won the day with a combined run time of 2:10.66. Her first run of 1:04.78 was 1.32 seconds faster than anyone else in the field. UVM's

Moa Clementson was a DNF in the second run after posting the 25th fastest first run in the field.
Nordic skiing will open their first day of the championships with the women's 5k and men's 10k freestyle at Mt. Van Hoevenberg starting tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. The action will be streamed live on NCAA.com at
