"So proud of these four Catamounts who continue to represent us at the highest level! They are truly the best our program has to offer," said Head Coach Chris Feifs. "Hopefully this inspires future Cats that Vermont can be a vessel to propel them to the pro ranks."
The championship was a battle of former Catamounts on and off the field. The Waterdogs feature Thomas McConvey '22, while the Archers have Jeffery '19 and Washuta '20. Also on the sidelines for the Archers are former assistant coach Brian Kavanaugh and athletic trainer Michele Bliss.
The Archers were the number one seed going into the PLL playoffs, as they were 8-2 in the regular season. They then dominated their semifinal matchup against Redwoods Lacrosse Club, winning 14-6. The Archers split their regular season meetings, beating the Waterdogs in week six and losing the regular season finale. Jeffery and Washuta each played a role in helping the Archers lift the trophy. Jeffery appeared 11 times across the regular season and post-season, racking up 13 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Washuta made four appearances, racking up 14 saves and a ground ball.
Jeffery and Washuta join Ian MacKay '18 on the list of former Catamounts who have won the PLL.
