CRAFTSBURY, Vt. –
Haley Brewster once again set the pace for all of EISA on Saturday winning her second race in as many days in the 10k Freestyle. After the second day of four and the conclusion of the Nordic action in the UVM Carnival the Catamounts sit in third place with 367 points, 18 behind second place Middlebury.

Day 2 Results
Brewster started fast and never looked back Saturday. She finished the 2.5k loop as the fastest finisher in the field in three of the four laps. Her overall time of 28:00.6 was 16.5 seconds faster than the second-place finisher Jasmine Drolet of Dartmouth.
Libby Tuttle was the next Catamount to finish, placing 15th overall with a time of 29:51.8. Vermont's final scorer was
Marielle Ackermann who came in 20th with a time of 30:07.8.
In the men's 10k Freestyle Dartmouth's John Steel Hagenbuch won the day with a time of 25:06.8, 5.2 seconds ahead of his teammate Jack Lange. Vermont's top finisher was
Bjorn Westervelt who placed 11th with a mark of 26:34.9. The Catamounts final two scorers finished back-to-back,
Owen Young (27:31.5) was 23rd and
Finn Sweet (27:36.4) was 24th.
The 2024 EISA campaign continues next weekend from Maine for the Colby Carnival. On Friday, January 19 the alpine student-athletes will kick off with the GS from Sugarloaf. The Nordic squads will compete in a 7.5k Skate on Friday from Quarry Road Trails. Both disciplines are back in action on Saturday.
