The Catamounts (6-4, 1-1 AE) hit the road for their regular season finale against Rhode Island (3-4, 0-1 A10) on Saturday (Jan 20). The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and will not be broadcast live.

AMERICA EAST WEEKLY AWARDS
In the 2023 portion of the season the Catamounts earned five America Easy Weekly Awards.
Jackie House earned two America East Swimmer of the Week awards while first yearÂ
Tannah Proudfoot registered three America East Diver of the Week awards. Proudfoot also set a first year and UVM varsity record in the one-meter and three-meter dive against UNH. Against Siena (Jan. 14) Proudfoot also earned a first-place finish in the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions. Proudfoot earned her fourth America East Diver of the Week honors, and first of 2024, on January 16, 2024.

STRONG SUCCESS AGAINST SIENA
Vermont collected a 179-105 victory over Siena in their annual Senior Day this past Sunday (Jan 14). The Catamounts earned a first-place finish in the 200-medley relay race with the combination of
Alexis Torykian,
Ellie Fazio,
Hally Laney, and
Havana Layton, earning a time of 1:49.61. In the 200 free House earned a first place finish with a time of 1:55.22. In the 100 back,
Autumn Bullinger finished first for Vermont in a time of 59.85 along with earning first place in the 200 back with a time of 2:10.68. In the 200 fly, first year
Jessica Drozdowski placed first with a time of 2:10.33, a full three seconds ahead of the competition. Laney earned a first-place finish in the 50 free with a time of 24.88 followed by
Anastazja Szukala who finished first in the 100 free with a time of 53.42. Proudfoot received first in both the one-meter and three-meter dive, earning a score of 256.58 in the three-meter and a score of 225.53 in the one-meter.
Lilly Acker claimed first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:26.29, a full four seconds ahead of the closest swimmer.
Natalie Schlemmer finished first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:43.61, six seconds ahead of the next closest swimmer.

MEET TIMELINE
Saturday's meet will begin at 10 a.m. with the 400 medley relay before heading into the 1000 free, 200 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 200 fly and 50 free. Following the first portion of swimming, the two teams will compete in the one-meter dive. In the second swimming portion of the competition the two teams will square off in the 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 500 free and 100 fly before competing in the three-meter diving competition. To conclude the meet the two teams will face off in the 400 IM and 200 free relay.

SCOUTING THE RAMS
The Rams enter Saturday's matchup with a 3-4 overall record and 0-1 record against Atlantic 10 opponents. Rhode Island gears up for The Catamounts after losing their last four meetings after starting the season 3-0, including a 167.5-132.5 season opener victory over Siena.

PAST MEETS WITH RHODE ISLAND
This will be the 14th meeting of all-time between the Catamounts and Rams, with Vermont holding a 10-3 advantage in the series. The last time these two teams met was last season in Burlington, Vermont where the Catamounts came away with a 171-126 victory. Vermont has earned three consecutive victories over Rhode Island, dating back to the 2019-20 season.

AMERICA EAST CHAMPIONSHIPS
Following Vermont's season finale meeting with Rhode Island, the Catamounts will prepare for the America East Championships in Lexington, VA. Vermont will look to improve on their third place finish last year in the America East Championship after winning a record number of individual events. It was also the first time in program history that Vermont received Rookie of the Meet and Swimmer of the Meet in the same year.
Natalie Schlemmer earned Most Outstanding Rookie and
Jackie House received Most Outstanding Swimmer. The 2024 America East Championships will begin on Wednesday, February 14 with an all-day schedule that will continue through Saturday, February 17.
