INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced this week that the University of Vermont has been selected to host the 2027 NCAA Ski Championships. Alpine races during the meet will be held in Stowe, at Mount Mansfield Ski Club at the Stowe Mountain Resort. For Nordic competitions, teams will race at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Craftsbury.
The 2027 Championships will be the eighth skiing championship that UVM has hosted. UVM also hosted the NCAA Ski Championships in 1980, 1986, 1990, 1997, 2005, 2011 and most recently in 2019.
"We are honored to have been selected to host the NCAA Ski Championships in 2027," said Director of Skiing
Bill Reichelt. "Stowe and Vermont have a long tradition of hosting premier ski competitions and our skiers will be working tirelessly to perform in front of an exuberant home crowd."
When Vermont last hosted the championships in 2019, they finished as National Runner-Up. UVM has finished first or second five of the six times the championship has been held in Stowe.
Laurence St. Germain became the seventh skier in NCAA history to sweep the women's giant slalom and slalom at Stowe. Her 2.58 second margin of victory is the most in an NCAA alpine event since at least 2000.
The Catamounts will enter the 2025 campaign having won five straight EISA Championships. At the 2024 NCAA Ski Championships in Colorado the Catamounts finished sixth overall. National Women's Nordic Skier of the Year
Haley Brewster led the way for Vermont earning National Runner-Up honors in the 7.5k freestyle and 20k classic.
