HANCOCK, Mass. –
Declan McCormack earned his third win of the season claiming the GS, while
Finn Sweet and
Diego Holscher also earned podiums on the first day of the Williams Carnival Friday. After the opening day, the Catamounts sit in second place with 406.5 points, 18.5 behind the Big Green.

Day 1 Results
McCormack had the fastest second run in the field by .14 seconds to claim his third straight race Friday. His two-run time of 1:34.47 was .17 seconds faster than Middlebury's Bradshaw Underhill. Holscher earned his second podium of the season finishing tied for third with a combined run time of 1:34.74.
Felix Lindenmayer was UVM's final scorer on the afternoon placing 13th overall with a two-run time of 1:35.85. 13th was a season-best for the first year.
Justine Clément was the Catamounts top finisher on the women's side earning a fourth-place finish in a two-run time of 1:37.85. Dartmouth's Allie Resnick won the day with a combined time of 1:37.40. This week's TD Bank Student-Athlete of the Week
Cydnie Timmermann placed seventh overall with a combined time of 1:38.24.
Moa Clementson was Vermont's final scorer earning an 11th place finish with a time of 1:38.70.
In the men's 10k Classic
Finn Sweet earned his fourth podium of the season finishing as runner-up with a time of 31:52.1. Harvard's Remi Drolet won his third straight race, and fourth of the season finishing 20 seconds ahead of Sweet.
Bjorn Westervelt was 13th overall in a time of 33:09.7. The Catamounts final scorer was
Owen Young who placed 35th in a time of 34:21.9.
Shea Brams of Middlebury won the 10k Classic in a time of 36:09.3, she bested the competition by almost 49 seconds.
Annie McColgan was the Catamounts top finisher, placing sixth overall in a time of 37:21.8. It was her sixth top-10 finish of the year.
Camille Bolduc posted her fourth straight top-10 finish, placing tied for eighth in a time of 37:38.4. Vermont's final scorer was
Libby Tuttle, she finished 16th in a time of 38:02.4.
Day two of the Williams Carnival is set for Saturday morning. The men's and women's slalom action will begin at 9:15 a.m. with run one from Jiminy Peak, run two is scheduled for 12:45. The Nordic squads will compete in a 3x5k Freestyle Relay, the women's relay begins at 10 a.m. followed by the men at 11:30 a.m.
