EGREMONT, Mass. –
Cydnie Timmermann and
Mackenzie Wood earned podiums for the Catamounts at an NCAA Slalom Qualifier held Sunday at Catamount Mountain Resort. Sunday's slalom, which did not feature team scoring, replaced the canceled University of Vermont Carnival slalom race from earlier this season.

Timmermann earned her fourth podium of the season placing second overall in the women's slalom with a combined time of 1:31.48. Dartmouth's Allie Resnick won the race by .25 seconds over Timmermann. Resnick's first run was .24 seconds faster than anyone else in the field.
Moa Clementson picked up her fifth top-five of the season with a two-run time of 1:31.95. Justine Clement (5th, 1:32.03) and
Hanna Larsson Nathhorst (7th, 1:32.53) also earned top-10 finishes on Sunday.
Wood earned his second career podium with a third-place finish in the men's slalom Sunday. His two-run time clocked in at 1:31.42. St. Michael's skier Simen Strand won the event by a whopping 1.37 seconds, picking up his first career victory. For some perspective second place and 20th place was separated by just 1.36 seconds.
Magnus Berge Styren (5
th, 1:31.51) and
Felix Lindenmayer (6th, 1.31.52) earned top-10 finishes on the day as well. For Lindenmayer it was his best finish of the season and his first career top-10.
The Catamounts will return to action on Friday, February 23 for the EISA Championships hosted by Middlebury. The teams will compete down the road from each other, with alpine races at the Middlebury Snow Bowl and Nordic action at the Rikert Nordic Center. Friday will feature the 7.5k Freestyle and the GS.
