JEFFERSONVILLE/HUNTINGTON, Vt. – Vermont Nordic and Alpine ski concluded the 2025 Saint Michael's Carnival in fifth place on Saturday afternoon with 593.5 total points, seeing Nordic competition be held in Huntington, Vt. at Sleepy Hollow while the Alpine team raced in Jeffersonville, Vt. at Smuggler's Notch. Dartmouth captured the Saint Michael's carnival victory, finishing with 888 total points.

In Huntington, Vt. from Sleepy Hollow, women's Nordic competed in a 3x5km Relay Classic. UVM's first group of
Kristin Maltun Helland,
Molly Moening, and
Annie McColgan raced to third place with a time of 45:53.6. Dartmouth's first group finished in first, racing to a time of 45:42.7. Vermont's second group of
Emma Page,
Marielle Ackermann, and
Rose Horning rounded out the top 10, finishing in 10th with a time of 48:43.8.
Over in Jeffersonville, Vt. from Smuggler's Notch, the Alpine team concluded their portion of the carnival racing the slalom.
Cydnie Timmermann recorded the best placing on the day for UVM, finishing in ninth place with a two-run time of 1:55.45. It's Timmermann's third top 10 finish on the season, all coming from the slalom race.
Magnus Berge Styren skied to a 10th place finish, his third straight top 10 finish in a slalom race, fourth overall on the season. Cole Palchal completed the slalom race in 12th place, improving his final individual race placement for the fourth time in a row

Vermont is back in action next week for the 2025 Dartmouth Carnival taking place at the Oak Hill Outdoor Center in Hanover, NH for the Nordic team, and the Dartmouth Skiway in Etna, NH for the Alpine squad. The Carnival is scheduled to begin on Friday (Feb. 7) and concludes on Saturday (Feb. 8). Nordic is set to compete in a 7.5km Classic Interval start on day one while Alpine races in the GS. Day two will see Nordic finish with a 20km Freestyle Mass Start Skate, and Alpine close out with the Slalom race. Start times will be posted on UVMAthletics.com when available.
