HANOVER/ETNA, NH. – Vermont men's alpine finished with the highest number of points on Friday afternoon, seeing
Mackenzie Wood race to second-place and
Magnus Berge Styren finished in third-place during the men's slalom, claiming the Catamounts two podium finishes during Day one of the Dartmouth Carnival from the Dartmouth Skiway in Etna, NH. Vermont currently stands in third place in the carnival with 360.5 total points.

The Nordic squad competed from the Oakhill Nordic Center in Hanover, NH, racing in a 7.5km classic interval start, seeing
Annie McColgan finish in sixth place with a time of 25:09.60, a team best on Friday afternoon, earning her fifth straight race finishing within the top 10.
For the Alpine team, the schedule had to be slightly changed due to high winds. Instead of the giant slalom race today, skiers competed in the slalom, with the giant slalom races being rescheduled for tomorrow. Men's alpine dominated, finishing with the most points out of every other school, seeing Wood secure his third podium appearance on the season racing to second place with a two-run time of 1:34.53. Wood posted the second fastest first run of the day, finishing his first run in 46.22 seconds. Styren placed in third with a two-run time of 1:34.57, his second appearance on the podium for a slalom race this season.
Cole Palchak secured a season best placement in the slalom, finishing in fourth place with a two-run time of 1:34.67, Palchak's first top five finish so far this year.
On the women's side of the Alpine races,
Cydnie Timmermann secured her second top five finish of the season during the slalom, racing to fourth place with a two-run time of 1:41.33.
Hanna Larsson Nathhorst finished 11th and
Moa Clementson placed 12th adding crucial EISA points for Vermont.
Tomorrow, during day two of the Dartmouth Carnival, the alpine squad will wrap up their portion with the giant slalom race. Nordic will conclude with a 20k freestyle mass start. Alpine teams will compete at the Dartmouth Skiway in Etna, NH. while the Nordic teams will be at the Oakhill Nordic Center in Hanover, NH.
