HANOVER/LYME, N.H.- On Saturday afternoon, the UVM Nordic and Alpine teams wrapped up day two of the Dartmouth Carnival from Oak Hill and the Dartmouth Skiway. Both the men's and women's Nordic teams competed in the 15k FR Mass start race while the Alpine squads raced the slalom. The Catamounts won the Dartmouth Carnival outright with a total of 974 points, their first EISA carnival victory of the season. Standout performances came from
Haley Brewster (first place),
Tabor Greenberg (first place), Peter Bakken (second place), and
Luke Rizio (third place) for Nordic, with
Cydnie Timmermann (second place) and
Sara Stiel (third place) for Alpine. Host school Dartmouth finished the carnival in second with 893 points followed by Middlebury rounding out the top three in third with 774 total points.

The Nordic women's team placed first for the second day in a row with a total of 122 points and four of six skiers placing in the top ten of finishers. Brewster continued to lift the Catamounts with her performance, placing first place with a run time of 45:06.7 and collecting 50 EISA points, her second EISA win of the season.
Lena Poduska placed fifth with a run time of 45:14.5, earning 39 EISA points, her fourth straight top ten finish.
Greta Kilburn placed eighth with a run time of 0:45:45.7 and earned 33 EISA points towards the team total, a career best finish for Kilburn.

The Nordic men's squad team also placed first for the second day in a row, with 141 points. The Catamounts swept the podium for the third time this season, seeing Greenberg place first with a run time of 39:15.5 and 50 EISA points, his first career EISA victory, followed by Bakken and Rizio with run times of 39:20.0 and 39:21.4, respectively. Bakken earned 47 and Rizio earned 44 EISA points for the team. Bakken placed on the podium for the second straight race, and Rizio secured his second podium appearance of the season.

On the Alpine slopes, the men's team finished day two in second place with 104 points.
Felix Lindenmayer was Vermont's best finisher, placing sixth with a two-run time of 1:40.73 with 39 EISA points. Following shortly behind was
Oskar Gillberg in seventh with a two-run time of 1:41.27 with 37 EISA points. Sebastien Weiss finished in 13th place with a two-run time of 1:42.14 and earned 28 EISA points for his team, a career best finish for the first-year skier.

The women's Alpine squad finished in first place with 126 points and two podium finishes. For the second day in a row, Timmermann placed in second with a two-run time of 1:46.04 and earned 47 EISA points. Stiel followed in third, with a two-run time of 1:46.42 and 44 EISA points, her first career EISA podium appearance.
Kendahl Roufa placed seventh with a two-run time of 1:46.84 and 35 EISA points to help her team place first overall.

NEXT UP: In one week, the Catamounts will host the UVM Carnival from Stowe Mountain resort and Craftsbury Outdoor in Stowe and Craftsbury, V.T. On day one of competition, the Nordic squad will be racing the CL Sprints and Alpine will be racing the slalom.
