STOWE, Vt. – The Vermont alpine squad opened day one of the UVM Carnival from Stowe Mtn. Resort on Thursday morning, finishing the day in fourth place with 173 total points. Both the men and women alpine skiers competed in the GS race, highlighted by
Cydnie Timmermann placing third, securing her fourth straight podium appearance. Middlebury concluded day one in first place with 222 total points.

UVM Carnival Day 1 Results
The women's alpine team kicked the day off first racing the GS. Timmermann placed third with a two-run time of 2:09.53, her fourth consecutive race earning a podium appearance.
Linn Hansson Liedholm had a season best finish, placing 13th with a two-run time of 2:11.09, securing 27 EISA points.
Margherita Sala notched a season best placement, finishing 25th with a two-run time of 2:13.84, tallying 20 crucial EISA points towards the team total.
On the men's side of the slopes,
Felix Lindenmayer was Vermont's best finisher, placing sixth with a two-run time of 2:04.47, his second straight race cracking the top six fastest skiers.
Oskar Gillberg finished in 12th with a two-run time of 2:05.34, earning 29 EISA points towards the team total.
Sebastian Weiss placed 28th with a two-run time of 2:07.07, securing 16 EISA points.

The UVM Carnival continues tomorrow, seeing the men's and women's alpine team wrap up their portion of the carnival racing in the slalom from Stowe Mtn. Resort. The Nordic team will compete in their first portion of the carnival, racing in Classic Sprints. Nordic racing begins at 10 a.m. while Alpine first runs will begin at 9 a.m. (All times subject to change).
