MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The UVM Nordic teams nearly swept both podiums in the classic races at the Rikert Tourning Center on the final day of racing to lead the Catamounts to their sixth straight EISA Championship. Vermont finished the carnival with 989 points, 163 more than Dartmouth (826). The title was the 36th in program history and Vermotn has won 12 EISA Championships since 2000.

Complete ResultsIris Pessey's first career win on the EISA Circuit led to a Vermont sweep of the women's 15K race. Pessey led the mass start race wire-to-wire in the three lap race, posting a tim eof 43:55.6.
MK Cirelli was the next Catamount to cross the finish line. She was sixth after the first lap but made a move to on the second time through the loop and finished runner-up.
Alayna Sonnesyn placed third and
Stephanie Kirk came in fourth. Kirk led the race after the first lap, fell back to eighth, but moved back into the top-5 in the final time around the course.
Jack Hegman won for the fourth time in five races to lead Vermont to a 1-3-5-6 finish in the men's 20K race. Hegman beat out Eli Hoenig of Williams by three hundreths of a second to win for the sixth time this season.
Jorgen Grav was third overall and followed by
Cole Morgan in fifth and
Ian Moore in sixth.
The Catamounts closed out the EISA Circuit winning three straight carnivals. UVM will turn its attention to the NCAA Ski ChampionshipsÂ
which will be held March 9-12 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The University of Colorado is the host institution. All races are scheduled to be streamed online for free at ncaa.com NCAA Championships Schedule (subject to change)
