JENKINS IN THE OCEAN STATE
Senior
Brooke Jenkins will play her final regular season road game in her home state of Rhode Island. The Smithfield, Rhode Island native will make her second trip to The Ocean State this season after facing Bryant in her hometown on Sept. 15. The visit to Providence is the fifth time Jenkins will play in front of a Rhode Island crowd.
BC CONNECTION
Wednesday's match will feature three coaches with the same alma mater – Boston College. UVM assistant coach
Lauren Cootware was a four-year starter for the Eagles from 2012-15 and named BC Rookie of the year in 2012. Brown's head coach, Kia McNeill, was the Big East Rookie of the Year at BC and earned Third Team All-America honors as a senior in 2007. McNeill's top assistant, Matt Mones, played with the Eagles during the 2006 and 2007 campaigns.
NON-CONFERENCE RECAP
The Green and Gold will play their eighth and final non-conference opponent of the season. The Cats beat Sacred Heart and Army to begin the year and earned a draw at Holy Cross. The non-league slate featured opponents from four different conferences.
SCOUTING BROWN
The Bears are one of the hottest teams in the country with a 10-1-1 overall record and a perfect 8-0-0 mark at home. Brown also owns one of the top defenses in the country. The Bears stand at No. 7 in team save percentage (.875) and team goals-against average (0.40). Goalie Kayla Thompson ranks No. 10 nationally with a 0.39 GAA and .882 save percentage. On the offensive end, three players have broken the double-digit point mark through 12 games. Ava Seelenfreund leads the pack with 13 points on four goals and five assists. Brittany Raphina follows with 12 points and has netted a team-best five goals. Star White has added 10 points with four goals and two assists.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts and Bears will square off for the 20th time and for the third straight year. Despite a 4-11-4 disadvantage, Vermont has only suffered two setbacks to Brown in the last eight meetings. Last year, the non-conference foes battled to a scoreless draw in Providence.
