Jessie McPherson was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week and junior defenseman
Maude Poulin-Labelle was named Hockey East Player of the Week by the league Monday afternoon following the Catamounts weekend sweep at UConn.

Jim Plumer. "I am thrilled to see the impact that Maude is making at both ends of the ice. She has really improved the defensive part of her game and is now distributing the puck really well. Jessie built on her opening win with a fantastic performance in both games at UConn. She really kept us in the second game when UConn pressured us in the first half of the game. She is off to a great start in her career."
McPherson made 55 saves over two games in the weekend sweep at UConn. On Friday night made 26 saves posting her second consecutive shutout in a 2-0 win. Then on Saturday he made 29 saves in a 3-2 overtime win for the Catamounts. She is the NCAA leader in save percentage (.973) and goals-against average (0.65). McPherson began her NCAA career with a shutout streak of 131:18, a Vermont record.
Poulin-Labelle had a goal and three assists on the weekend for the Catamounts. Poulin-Labelle scored the game-winning goal on Friday and had three assists on Saturday including
Theresa Schafzahl's overtime game-winner. She is the top-scoring defenseman in the NCAA with nine points in six games. She is also tied for sixth in scoring amongst all skaters in the NCAA.
Vermont will return to action next weekend with its opponent and location to be announced. Hockey East is shifting schedules in an effort to make up previously postponed games. A full schedule update from Hockey East is expected tomorrow.
