WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTEBOOK
On Thursday, Vermont women's soccer will travel to LIU Soccer Park to take on LIU at 4 p.m. On Sunday (Sept. 4) afternoon, UVM will return home to face Rhode Island in their annual Rally Against Mental Health Game at 1 p.m. The LIU Game will be broadcast live for free on NEC Front Row. The Rhode Island game will be broadcast live on ESPN 3 with Brian McLaughin on the call.

RALLY AROUND MENTAL HEALTH
Sunday's home game against Rhode Island will be the annual Rally Around Mental Health Game, which is an initiative that was created to help raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health. Led by student-athletes, Rally Around Mental Health initiatives offer educational programming and activities to promote mental health. SCOUTING LIU
LIU is 2-2-0 on the season with victories over Delaware State and St. Peter's. LIU fell 5-1 last time out against Stony Brook on Aug. 28, snapping their two-game shutout streak. Redshirt First Year Jaylin Counts leads the Sharks with two assists and a goal accounting for four points. Graduate Student Taylor Curcio has also had a hot start to the season amassing three points on an assist and a game-winning goal against Saint Peter's.
SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND
Rhode Island is 0-3-1 following a home defeat against Brown on Sunday, Aug. 28. They started the season with losses at North Carolina State and Wake Forest, and a tie against Northeastern. Throughout the season the Rams have been outscored 11-2. Senior Brooke Cavino and First Year Erin Hopewell lead the team with two points apiece. They have combined to score the two goals for Rhode Island on the season. Junior Sam Hagerty and Sophomore Hope Santaniello have each contributed an assist this season.
INSIDE THE SERIES
This will be the Catamounts first ever matchup with the Sharks of LIU. Vermont will be the beginning of a three-game slate of America East foes for LIU.
This will be the 16th matchup all-time between the Catamounts and the Rams. Vermont trails the series with a record of 3-10-2. Rhode Island won the last matchup 4-2 in Kingston, Rhode Island on Aug. 20, 2017. UVM last defeated Rhode Island on Sept. 20, 2015, with a 3-2 win on the road.

YOUTH PERFORMANCE
First Year
Sydney Remington and Sophomore
Kate Bossert have come on strong in the early part of the season for UVM. Remington has registered four shots on goal, recording her first collegiate score against Merrimack. Bossert has been formidable up front for the Catamounts with three points, amassing five shots on goal, with a .714 shot on goal percentage, one goal scored, and one assist in three starts for Vermont. Kylee Carafoli saw her first collegiate action between the goalposts in the second half against No. 4 South Carolina. She recorded 10 saves allowing just one goal in 45 minutes.
