JEFFERSONVILLE, Vt. – Moa Clementson and
Cole Palchak claimed the slalom titles Saturday from a sub-zero Smugglers' Notch on the final day of the 2023 Saint Michael's Carnival.
Caroline Jones and
Declan McCormack both placed third overall as the Catamounts claimed the third carnival of the season with 1034 team points. Vermont finished 266 points ahead of second place Middlebury. With Friday's postponed giant slalom today's slalom counted for double the team points.

Palchak earned his first career podium and EISA win with a two-run time of 1:17.17. In his first run he was unbelievable, blowing away the field by .42 seconds with a time of 38.01. McCormack earned his first podium of the season with a combined run time of 1:18.05.
Kyle Alexander was UVM's final scorer of the day, finishing fifth overall in his first EISA race of the season. His two-run time was 1:18.38.
Clementson earned her second straight podium in the slalom with an identical two-run time of 1:20.32 to Dartmouth's Allie Resnick. Clemenston's second run was .39 seconds faster than Resnick to close the gap and create the tie for first. Jones earned her third podium of the campaign with a two-run time of 1:20.97. First year Cydnie Timmerman earned her first career top-10 with a sixth-place finish in a combined time of 1:22.00.
The EISA circuit heads to the Harvard Carnival next weekend. The alpine teams will compete at Waterville Valley, GS Friday and slalom Saturday and the Nordic teams will face off at the Dublin School Nordic Center. Harvard Athletics will provide streaming coverage available on ESPN+ next weekend.
