PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Vermont track & field continued to build toward the upcoming conference championships with strong performances over the weekend at the Rutgers Relays and George Davis Invite.

RUTGERS RELAYS
- The Catamount tandem of Avinabo Poddar, Andrew Ponessi, Alex Warner, and Alex Siaton combined for a time of 42.57 seconds to win the men's 4x100-meter relay.
- Jameson Sparks recorded a victory in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:29.98. The sophomore won by a margin of 16.05 seconds.
- Alex Siaton logged a second-place finish in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.91 seconds.
- Jane Leighton (4:36.46) and Andie Cornish (4:40.40) placed second and third, respectively, in the women's 1500-meter run.
- Lauren Triarsi logged a second-place finish in the women's 100-meter hurdles, posting a time of 14.54 seconds. The time is her fastest of the season. Triarsi tied for third in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters.
- Hope Tyska (11:42.41) and Cara Van de Meulebroecke (11:44.76) finished second and third, respectively, in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase.
- Owen Amsden finished second in the men's 5000-meter run with a time of 15:06.87. Nathan Stine was sixth with a time of 15:15.73.
- Andrew Crompton recorded a third-place finish in the men's 1500-meter run with a time of 3:58.75.
- Clare Kelly recorded a third-place finish in the women's 5000-meter run with a time of 18:09.60. Caroline Deiss also cracked the top five, posting a time of 18:13.46 for fourth place.
- James Cilwik was fifth in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.07.
- Sophie Christopher (1:08.52) and Nejla Hadzic (1:08.75) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the women's 400-meter hurdles.
- Abby Martin posted the top UVM mark in the women's javelin, finishing sixth with a throw of 35.63 meters. Kevin Mills had Vermont's top mark on the men's side with a throw of 51.94 meters.
- Morgan Kelley posted a mark of 37.95 meters to place seventh in the women's discus.
GEORGE DAVIS INVITE
- Charlotte Crum recorded a runner-up finish in the women's 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:15.22.
- Claire MacDonald was sixth in the women's 5000-meter run with a time of 18:40.64. Emma Leary also cracked the top 10, placing ninth with a time of 19:02.74.
- Annika Huber was ninth in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.47 meters.
- Jonathan Hills placed 13th in the men's 1500-meter run with a time of 4:10.90.
- Catherine Movsessian logged a time of 1:03.69 in the women's 400-meter run to finish in 14th place.
- Isabelle Fleuette finished 18th in the women's 3000-meter run with a time of 11:04.31.
- Britta Zetterstrom had Vermont's top time in the women's 1500-meter run, finishing the race in 4:57.68.
UP NEXT
The Catamounts head to Amherst, Massachusetts for the UMass Pre-Conference Meet on Saturday (Apr. 29). The meet will be Vermont's final competition before the 2023 America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
