BOSTON —The America East Conference announced its All-Academic Teams for the 2024 cross-country season on Tuesday afternoon. The team features James Cilwik, who was honored for his excellence on the racecourse and in the classroom.

"I'm very pleased to learn that James is being recognized as a top-scholar athlete. I've never met someone who takes his academic work more serious than James Cilwik," said head coach Matt Belfield. "For him to thrive as an engineering student as he does while performing at an exceptionally high level as an endurance athlete is certainly praiseworthy."
 
Cilwik is the lone Catamount to be honored, posting a 3.99 in Civil Engineering. Cilwik finished 39that the America East Championships with an 8k personal best of 25:34.4. Cilwik also recorded a 10k personal at the NCAA Northeast regional 11 days ago with a time of 33:02.0. His top finish on the year was seventh in the Vermont Invite. Cilwik recorded three top-20 finishes on the year in the Vermont Invite, RPI Harvest Classic, and Fall Foliage Invitational.
