VERMONT OUTLOOK
- Vermont is playing in their first-ever America East title game after winning the program's first two playoff games this week.
- On Thursday, the Catamounts defeated fifth seed UMass Lowell, 2-0 behind two goals from Sophia Lefranc.
- Yesterday, Vermont upset the top seed UAlbany, 1-0, behind another goal from Lefranc.
- Lefranc is currently the leading goal scorer in the tournament, scoring three goals, and now has eight in the season, which is second on the Catamounts behind Marie Dijkstra's 10.
- The Vermont defense has been stringent in holding opponents to a combined six shots on goal in these playoffs. Merle Vaandrager has now posted three consecutive shutouts and is tied for the program record for shutouts in a season with six.
- Vaandrager currently is ranked third in the country in save percentage (.814) and fifth in goals against average (0.95).
NEW HAMPSHIRE OUTLOOK
- The Wildcats came into the tournament as the two seed and won their semifinal against Maine yesterday, 5-3.
- The last time these two teams met, New Hampshire defeated the Catamounts 3-2 in overtime off a goal from Tasmin Cookman.
- Kathelijne Knuttel leads the Wildcats in scoring this year with 39 points (17 G, 5 A). Cookman is second in scoring with 31 points (13 G, 5 A), while Faye Meijer and Nicole Poulakis each have 24 points.
- Poulakis is New Hampshire's leading scorer in the tournament, scoring two goals against the Black Bears.
- The Wildcats rely on second-team all-conference goalie Abby Johnson in net, who has posted a 2.17 goals against average and .673 save percentage in 17 starts this season.
