CRAFTSBURY, Vt. –
Finn Sweet earned his third straight podium finishing second in the 15k Classic Friday afternoon from Craftsbury on the opening day of the 2024 Harvard Carnival. Friday's GS from Burke Mountain was postponed until Sunday due to heavy fog in the area. After the first day of competition the Catamounts sit in first place with 211 points, 17 ahead of New Hampshire.

Day 1 Results
Sweet was second in the 15k Classic with a time of 40:07, Harvard's Remy Drolet finished 45 seconds ahead of Sweet to win the day at his home carnival. Sweet's second-place finish matched his best start of the season. The Catamounts next scorer was
Bjorn Westervelt, he placed 11th with a time of 40:35. Vermont's final scorer on the day was
Aidan Burt who finished 19th in a time of 41:18.
Annie McColgan led the women's side on Friday, earning a season-best fourth overall finish with a time of 44:49. Middlebury's Shea Brams became the first woman outside of
Haley Brewster to win a Nordic event this year with a time of 43:42. Brewster has headed to Slovenia to represent the United States at the U23 Cross-Country Ski Championships.
Marielle Ackermann earned her first top-10 of the season placing sixth overall with a time of 45:04.
Libby Tuttle finished right behind her, six seconds later to finish seventh as UVM's final scorer of the morning.
Day two of the Havard Carnival is set for Saturday morning. The men's and women's slalom action will begin at 9 a.m. from Burke Mountain and the action will be available live on ESPN+. The Nordic squads will compete in a 7.5k Freestyle Saturday with the women starting at 9:30 a.m. followed by the men at noon. The current schedule is for the alpine teams to make-up the Harvard GS on Sunday morning beginning at 9 a.m. As always check UVMAthletics.com for any updates to the schedule.
