HANOVER/ETNA, NH. – Annie McColgan was victorious in the 20k freestyle mass start, her second career EISA win and second win in just as many carnivals, while
Kristin Maltun Helland finished two seconds behind McColgan to secure second-place, netting the Catamounts two podium finishes on Saturday afternoon during the final day of the Dartmouth Carnival. Vermont finished in third place overall with 748.5 total points.

In Hanover, NH, from the Oakhill Nordic Center, the Nordic team competed in a 20k freestyle mass start where McColgan secured her second career EISA win, second carnival in a row winning a race, finishing in first place with a time of 52:12.2 just two seconds ahead of Helland who finished in second place with a time of 52:14.2, earning her fourth podium finish of the season.
On the men's side of the Nordic race,
Owen Young raced to a team best 10th place with a time of 47:10.9, his first top 10 finish on the season.
Men's and women's alpine concluded day two of the Dartmouth carnival in Etna, NH, from the Dartmouth Skiway competing in the giant slalom, seeing the women collect the most points out of every school during the second day.
Justine Clément,
Hanna Larsson Nathhorst, and
Cydnie Timmermann all placed in the top 10, seeing Clement finish in fifth place with a two-run time of 2:00.70, Nathhorst place seventh with a two-run time of 2:00.87, and Timmermann round out in ninth with a two-run time of 2:01.53. Nathhorst's seventh place finish is her best placing of the season to this point.
For the men,
Mackenzie Wood finished with a team best fourth place, the fourth time this season placing within the top 5, fourth time doing so in his last five races, finishing with a two-run time of 1:56.42. First year skier
Oskar Gillberg notched his best finish of the season racing to seventh place with a two-run time of 1:57.16.
Magnus Berge Styren secured EISA points with an 11th place finish, racing a two-run time of 1:57.50.

Vermont is back in action next week for the 2025 Middlebury Carnival taking place at the Rikert Outdoor Center in Ripton, Vt. for the Nordic team, and the Midd Snow Bowl in Hancock, Vt. for the alpine squad. The carnival is scheduled to begin on Friday (Feb. 14) and concludes on Saturday (Feb. 15). Nordic is set to compete in a 1.3k Skate Sprint on day one while Alpine races in the slalom. Day two will see Nordic finish with a 10k Classic Interval Skate, and Alpine close out with the giant slalom. Start times will be posted on UVMAthletics.com when available.
