BOSTON – The America East Conference released the results of the 2025 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll on Tuesday afternoon. The Catamounts are projected to finish fifth for the second year in a row and recorded 39 points in the preseason rankings. America East also announced its Preseason All-Conference Team, which featured UVM senior midfielder,
Sydney Remington.

Voting was conducted by the league's head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own team. Four different teams received first place votes. Binghamton and New Hampshire each tied as favorites with 55 points and two first-place votes each. Defending back-to-back tournament champion Maine was selected third overall but received the most first-place votes with four. UMass Lowell was selected fourth overall receiving 46 points and one first-place vote. Vermont wrapped up the top five with 39 points followed by Bryant in sixth, NJIT in seventh, UAlbany in eighth, and UMBC in ninth.
Remington receives the 2025 Preseason All-Conference honor after being named to the America East All-Academic team last season and the America East All-Rookie Team in 2022. The Calgary, Alberta native started a career high 18 games last season for UVM. Remington led the Catamounts in assists as a first year in 2022, and did it again last year as a junior, recording four total assists during each of those seasons. She enters her senior year with 21 total points on six goals and nine assists.

The Catamounts will open the 2025 campaign traveling to face Merrimack on Thursday, August 17 at 7 p.m. beginning the season on the road for the fourth year in a row. Vermont's home opener will be on Friday, August 22 at 6 p.m. as they take on Yale for the first time since 2016 when they defeated the Bulldogs 2-1 on Virtue Field.
