STOWE, Vt./CRAFTSBURY, Vt. – On Friday afternoon, the UVM Alpine and Nordic teams hosted Day 2 of the UVM carnival from Stowe Mtn. Resort and the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. The Alpine squad competed in the Slalom while the Nordic team raced the Sprint Classic. Four Catamounts placed on the podium including Cydnie Timmerman (second) for Alpine, and
Benon Brattebo (first),
Fin Bailey (third), and
Haley Brewster (first) for Nordic. Middlebury and Dartmouth are tied for first after Day 2 of the carnival with a total of 607 points. Vermont currently sits in third in the team standings with 596 total points, just 11 points behind Middlebury and Dartmouth.

UVM Carnival Day 2 Results
The women's alpine team finished third in the slalom race with 105 points and three skiers in the top 25 of finishers. Timmermann placed second with a two-run time of 1:55:04, her fifth consecutive race earning a podium appearance.
Kendahl Roufa placed sixth with a two-run time of 1:56.48, earning 37 EISA points. Marguerite Sala placed 22nd with a two-run time of 2:03.18 and 21 EISA points towards the team total.
On the men's side of the slopes, the team placed fourth in the slalom with a total of 87 points. Oskar Gilberg was UVM's best finisher, placing eighth with a two-run time of 1:50.46 and 35 EISA points.
Magnus Berge Styren was the next catamount finisher, in 13th with a two-run time of 1:51.37 and 30 EISA points for his team.
On the Nordic track, the men's squad placed first in the sprint classic with a total of 131 points and four skiers in the top ten of finishers. Brattebo placed first with a run time of 3:27.5 and 50 EISA points. This was Brattebo's personal best finish of the season and second career EISA victory. Bailey also made the podium, placing third with a run time of 3:30.3, tallying 44 EISA points.
Ruben Kretzschmar placed sixth with a run time of 3:33.5, earning 37 EISA points for the team.
The women's Nordic team finished the day in second with 100 points and five skiers placing in the top 25 of finishers. Brewster led the pack, placing first with a run time of 4:01.6 and 50 EISA points, her third EISA victory of the season. The next Catamount finisher was
Hanna Koch in 12th with a run time of 4:12.5 and 28 points, a career best finish for Koch.
Greta Kilburn placed 19th with a run time of 4:14.1 and earned 22 crucial EISA points to lift her team.
