AMESBURY, Mass. - 21 members of the Vermont women's hockey team and 18 members of the men's hockey team were named to the 2021-22 Hockey East All-Academic Team by the league this afternoon. Additionally,
Evelyne Blais-Savoie and
Sara Levesque were honored as Hockey East Top Scholar-Athletes, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. They were both also named to the Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team.

Each student-athlete selected achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which he or she was actively competing. 186 student-athletes were named to the men's team, while a record 184 student-athletes made the women's squad. Vermont's 21 women's student-athletes who received recognition was tied with UConn for the most by a women's team this season.

Andrew Petrillo were recognized as Hockey East Distinguished Scholars.
Sini Karjalainen,
Antonia Matzka, and
Theresa Schafzahl were recognized on the women's team. All six maintained a 3.0 GPA or better in each semester of their four varsity seasons.
Philip Lagunov,
Alyssa Holmes, and
Kristina Shanahan received special recognition for maintaining a 3.0 GPA throughout their five seasons of Hockey East play.
