EDMONTON, Alberta – Vermont men's hockey coaches Scott Moser and Todd Woodcroft are both serving as assistant coaches at the rescheduled 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship scheduled to run August 9-20 at the Edmonton Oilers home rink Rogers Place. Moser will serve as an Assistant Coach with Slovakia while Woodcroft will fulfill the same role with Sweden. All games of the 2022 tournament will air live on the NHL Network in the United States.

Moser served in the same capacity for Slovakia at the abbreviated 2022 championships which were halted due to COVID-19 in December of 2021. During the 2021 World Junior Championship, also held in Edmonton, Woodcroft was a member of the coaching staff for Sweden advising in a remote role.
 
"I value any opportunity where I can continue to learn from smart hockey people," said Woodcroft. This tournament allows me to have an influence on Swedish players as well as giving me the chance to absorb knowledge from great coaches like Tomas Montén. I am fortunate to have a voice with this generation of Swedish talent – the goal is to bring some of them to UVM in the near future."
 
"This is Scott's second opportunity to coach with the Slovakian National Team," continued Woodcroft. "In just over a year, Scott has had a great impact on our friends in the Slovakian Federation, and they have thanked UVM on numerous occasions for Scott's involvement.  Scott is helping us find players in Slovakia while concurrently contributing to the success of a rising hockey federation like Slovakia.  Scott's work there will pay dividends and already has for UVM Hockey."
 
Moser and Woodcroft continue what has already been a busy international schedule for the UVM Hockey staff this offseason. In May, former Director of Video Erik Elenz '22 worked with Germany at the IIHF Senior World Championship and Equipment Manager Patrick Dooley will complete a stint with USA Hockey at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup this afternoon.
