Arthur G. Harms 1925 - Football
Arthur G. Harms, a 1974 UVM Hall of Fame inductee, was labeled by many of the best tackles to ever wear the Green and Gold football team. He was captain of the 1924 football team and was selected to the All-New England College Division team.
Harms registered the most impressive showing in pro football of any UVM graduate. He played in the early years of the National Football League first for Frankfort Yellowjackets (now the Philadelphia Eagles) in 1925 and then two seasons for the New York Giants. The Giants in 1927 finished first in the NFL with an 11-1-1 record.
After the NFL, he kept his hand in the game accepting a position as player-coach for a semi-pro club in his hometown of Flushing, N.Y.
